School Council

DSCF1148We believe that all children’s voices in the school are heard. We aim to provide opportunities for children to take an active part in their learning. This ensures that children are listened to, respected and that their needs as learners are valued.

In September each year, the children take part in a democratic election to decide who will be elected as the representative for each class. Once the Councillors have been elected, they are given an option of specific cabinet roles to take on.

In 2022, the School Council launched the ‘Hethersett Hundred’. They reached out to the children, parents/carers, staff and Governors to nominate charities close to their hearts. We have pledged to raise £100 for the 100 charities by holding ‘Hethersett Hundred’ charity days. Each time we raise £100, we use a random number generator to select the charity.
